today, it is a well-known fact that more than 50% of the indian population is constantly on the social networking sites facebook and twitter. a large portion of this group is made up of young people, who are either in school or college, or in the working place. they use these social media sites to connect with friends, exchange information, and also to see what their friends are doing. this in itself is a good thing; the problem lies in the fact that these sites are also used for a lot of other activities that are not good.
if you are an indian teenage boy, chances are you have made or are making your own youtube channel. while it is true that most of the videos are uploaded with the intention of sharing them with your friends, there is a large pool of teenage boys who are making them for the sake of the likes. some of these boys are teens, some are in the early twenties. for the most part, they do not understand the effects of the site or the content they are posting. when they do, they do not understand that what they are doing can have far reaching implications. they do not understand that the content that they are posting can have a negative effect on their friends, their parents, their society. they do not understand how the content that they are posting is used to blackmail them, and also how it can negatively affect their future.
The Look of Love is the first movie about online dating Ive seen that I really enjoyed. I laughed a lot and I cant remember a time when Im more into movies than I am right now. I was really looking forward to see what director and writer Wayne Kramer (who previously worked with Kramer for the reason why) would do. And he did a really good job, Kramer created a movie about how a guy looking for a relationship, must use several web sites to finally find the girl he wants to start a relationship with. But the problem is, she doesnt really wants to start a relationship with him. She is like the online girl of every man he meets. She encourages him to meet her in the real world to find out if she is for real and if she will become his girlfriend. This girl is real and she doesnt want to become the girlfriend of every guy. Her parents are so strict about it that she doesnt want to know what type of guy the guy is. So, he comes up with a solution, and a story how he can get to know the girl in the real world. So they end up meeting at a concert, they get to know each other in a good way and even start to develop feelings for each other. But they still need to see each other twice a week to complete their schedule. And thats how the film ends.
Summer is in full swing and the sun is still shining. I just love summer months. There are so many free and interesting documentaries available and so many movies to see. I cant say for sure if I will watch more movies this month than in any other summer, but I will certainly try to.
Which is the most progressive of the three films? It’s hard to say. All three are set in the same period, around 1970, and all feature black actors in their leading roles. All three movies are led by an actor whose career began in the world of Broadway musicals. There’s a lot of walking and talking around Chicago. There’s a city, and there’s also the vast and lonely expanse of the unknown. (Brian Frimpong) (Acorn Media DVD) Read more
